Add an assortment of small seed pods to your habitat or terrarium with this variety pack, which includes 35 of our premium small seed pods.  Most of these mini seed pods are the size of a quarter or smaller.  Seed pods have a dual purpose of being sustainable natural decor in terrariums and habitats and isopods and springtails also enjoy using them as hides.  They are great botanicals for naturalistic terrariums, and they do hold up well in humid vivariums.   These seed pods make harvesting springtails a breeze.  Simply set a seed pod on top of the springtail substrate, and the springtails will gather on the seed pod so you can transfer the springtails to where you need them.  The photos illustrate the general size and shape of the pods you will receive.  Check out our YouTube channel for a short video on seed pods and springtail harvesting.  This pack contains 3 cane fruit pods, 3 star flower pods, 10 adler cones, 10 casuarina pods, 3 bakuli pods, 3 Mutamba pods, and 3 cotton flower pods.

If using in an aquarium, it is recommended to boil the seed pods for 15-20 to release some tannins and then soak the pods in water for several hours to overnight to help the pods become waterlogged and sink.  Start by adding one or two pods to see how your aquarium reacts.  Adding too many pods can make the water dark.  You can always add more seed pods as needed.
