Starry pods or sororoca clusters are large woody capsules from the Strelitzia family of plants, which are related to the Bird of Paradise plant.

Preparation for Aquarium/Paludarium Use:   

The bleached Starry pod is not safe for aquarium and bioactive terrarium use due to the bleaching process.  The natural Starry pod is appropriate for aquariums and terrariums.

1. Boil: Boil the pods for at least 1 hour to help them sink and leach initial tannins.

2. Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer if needed, changing the water daily, until they are fully waterlogged and the desired amount of tannin has been leached.

3. Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, they are ready to be added to your setup.
